The Leighton Estate dates back to the 1880's and has a rich history in the Southern Highlands.  Servicing the main Leightons homestead, the gardener's cottage provided fresh vegetables to the main house, and the Barn, being the original milking dairy, supplied fresh milk and cream.  A natural spring on the property supplied water to reservoir tanks in Carlisle Street which serviced many Bowral residents in the early 1900's. 

 

Recently, Bowral Barn has been beautifully renovated to provide private

accommodation close to the Bowral town centre. Bowral Barn is available for stays of a minimum of 2 nights, and also for longer rentals, if your build/renovation is running behind or you would like to trial life in the country.
